ThinQspace is a handwritten note-taking and AI tutoring app for iPad, provided by Akcero Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in India. This page explains what information the app handles and how, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Your notebooks, handwritten pages, drawings, audio recordings, and flashcards are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, that same data is synced to your personal iCloud account so it's available on your other devices — it is not sent to us or to any third party for storage.
ThinQspace does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, device identifiers, or any advertising identifier. The app collects data only in the moment you actively use an AI feature — there is no background collection, and nothing is collected simply by opening the app or writing in it.
The data above is used for exactly one purpose: to generate the answer, explanation, transcription, summary, flashcards, quiz, graph, diagram, or 3D model you asked for, and to return it to your device. It is not used for advertising, profiling, building a user profile, training our own models, or any other purpose. We do not sell or rent your data. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
To generate answers, the data above is sent through our backend to Google's Gemini API (provided by Google LLC). This is the only third party the app shares any data with, and the only outbound data flow in the app.
Your permission is obtained first. Before anything is sent for the first time, the app shows an in-app disclosure explaining exactly what will be sent and that it goes to Google's Gemini API, and asks you to agree. If you decline, nothing is sent and the AI features simply do not run.
Equivalent protection by the third party. Google processes this data as a data processor on our behalf under the Google APIs Terms of Service and the Gemini API Additional Terms, which commit Google to confidentiality, security, and purpose-limitation obligations that provide the same or equal protection of your data as described in this policy. Data submitted through the paid Gemini API is not used by Google to train its models, and is retained only transiently for abuse monitoring before deletion. Requests are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Our backend acts only as a relay to Google's API — it does not store your notes, images, questions, or answers, and no account or device identifier is attached to a request.
ThinQspace does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what's described above (locally-stored notes and, when a question is asked, the content of that question sent for AI processing). The app does not require account creation and does not collect contact information. Because a student's handwriting could contain personal details they have written down, we recommend not writing sensitive personal information on a page before asking ThinQ about it.
Deleting a notebook or page in the app deletes it from your device (and from iCloud, if enabled). Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data, including your record of having agreed to AI processing — reinstalling will ask for your permission again before anything is sent. Because we do not store your notes, questions, or answers on our servers, there is no server-side copy of that content for us to delete.
